Troodos Hike

While visiting the Troodos Mountains, there are plenty of trails to hike, as well as pathways in the Troodos Village and near the Troodos Visitors Center.

The Troodos Village is located near Mount Olympus in the Troodos Mountains, which is within the Limassol district of Cyprus.

One of those trails is called the Atalanta Trail (also known as the Atalanti Trail and the Atalante Trail).  With a circular route of 14 km, it may take about five hours to hike, starting at the Troodos Square in Troodos Village.

According to the Atalanta Trail sign, it states that visitors "can admire one of the oldest juniper trees in Cyprus, an 800 year old specimen.  On the trail, you will find information signs about plants, mostly endemic shrubs and trees and about plutonic rock formations....  The route offers exceptional views towards the areas and villages of the Limassol, Pafos, and Nicosia districts....  The entire route is located in Troodos National Forest Park.
