Baths of Aphrodite

The Baths of Aphrodite (also known as Loutra tis Afroditis) is a popular tourist site.  It's located on the Akamas Peninsula, near Latchi Village, which is within the Paphos district of Cyprus.

According to tradition, Aphrodite (a popular symbol in Cyprus) took a bath in a cool pond near the town of Polis.  Hence, the current name of this site is titled the Baths of Aphrodite.  Also, the legend shares that this place is where Aphrodite met Adonis for the first time and then fell in love.

At the Baths of Aphrodite, there's a path from the car park that leads to the baths, which is actually a small grotto shaded by an old fig tree in the water.  Along the pathway, it's only a few minutes walk to the site.

The Baths of Aphrodite are a lovely place to explore, despite the possibly high number of tourists visiting the site at the same time.
