Saint George of the Latins Church Ruins

The Saint George of the Latins Church is located near the Lala Mustafa Pasha Mosque and Othello's Tower in the city of Famagusta, within the Famagusta district of Northern Cyprus.

During the 13th century, this church was built using materials removed from the ancient Salamis ruins.  Due to the arrow slots built into the church walls, it's believed that this church was constructed before the city walls were completed.

During the Ottoman conquest of 1570, the Saint George of the Latins Church suffered major damage.  Today, the church that was built in a Gothic style is mostly in ruins.

The Saint George of the Latins Church is a delightful place to visit, while exploring the city of Famagusta.
