Pyrga Village

Pyrga Village is located about 4 km from Kornos Village, within the Larnaca district of Cyprus.

Within this village, there's the Agia Ekatrina Chapel (also known as the Saint Catherine Chapel, Agia Aikaterini Chapel, Royal Chapel, and Medieval Chapel), which was built by Lusignan King Janus for his wife, Charlotte de Bourbon.  This small Gothic church was constructed of volcanic rock.

Within the Agia Ekatrina Chapel, there are frescoes dating back the 15th and 16th centuries.  Until the 19th century, there was a manor house (or possibly a monastery) attached to this chapel.

While exploring this area of the Larnaca district, Pyrga Village and Agia Ekatrina Chapel are a nice, yet quick stop along the way.
