Epiphany (also known as Kalanda and the Feast of the Light) is a public holiday in Cyprus that's celebrated on January 6.  This holiday celebrates God's revelation to all people as presented in the human form of Jesus Christ, as well as Christ's baptism.

Since Epiphany is a religious holiday, there are special church services at some of the Greek Orthodox churches around the island.  According to tradition, select people dive into the Mediterranean Sea to retrieve a cross that was tossed in the sea as part of the church's blessing and celebration.
